am a New Zealander who has been living in Wales since 1986, and have been
working in a caring profession since 1976, initially as an occupational
therapist and more latterly as a counsellor.
During my time as an occupational therapist I worked with clients who
had both acute and chronic physical difficulties and then moved on to
working within the mental health setting, where I worked until December
2001. It was through this that I became interested in counselling and
gained my PostGraduate Diploma in Counselling in 1994 (University of Wales).
I have been working as a private counsellor since 1998, and within the
GP setting since early last year. I became accredited with the British
Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy in 2001, and practice under
their Counselling Code of Ethics.
